Kinetic DX Electric Scooter Launched in India at ₹1.11 Lakh with 116 Km Range

The iconic Kinetic DX, a well-known petrol scooter from the 1990s, is making a comeback, now as an electric scooter. The updated version is developed by Kinetic Watts and Volts, the electric mobility arm of the Firodia-led Kinetic Engineering Group.

The company has launched two variants:

  • Kinetic DX – ₹1,11,499 (ex-showroom)
  • Kinetic DX+ – ₹1,17,499 (ex-showroom)

Both models are manufactured at Kinetic’s facility in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra.

Booking and Availability

  • Initial launch is limited to Pune
  • Deliveries will begin in September 2025
  • Online bookings are open with a token amount of just ₹1,000
  • Kinetic has set a booking cap of 35,000 units for the first phase

Design and Features

Despite its nostalgic name, the new DX is modern and utility-focused:

The DX+ gets extra tech features, including:

  • Backlit digital instrument cluster
  • Telematics and remote diagnostics via smartphone app

The DX+ is powered by a mid-mounted electric motor, paired with a belt drive to the rear wheel. It offers three riding modes:

  • Range Mode – for longer battery life
  • Power Mode – for balanced riding
  • Turbo Mode – for higher performance
